A carcass of a 16-feet-long shark was found at the Puri sea beach near the Baliapanda lighthouse on Tuesday.
On being informed, Forest Department officials reached the spot and recovered the body and were trying to ascertain the reason behind the death of the animal.
It was suspected that the shark died after being hit with a fishing trawler.
Notably, a decomposed carcass of a whale had been found behind the Panthanivas on the Puri sea beach on April 3 this year. Besides, a 30-feet-long whale was found dead along the sea coast here on February 16 this year.
