The Khandagiri police have served a notice to Air Odisha Managing Director (MD) Santosh Pani to record his statement on March 30 in connection with the share allotment case. Cops served the notice on the basis of a complaint lodged by sitting Rourkela BJP MlA Dilip Ray's son Sandeep Ray accusing the private aviation company of embezzling `40 lakh. Sources said the lawmaker's son had given `80 lakh for 40 per cent shares in the private airline in January 2015.
later, when he wanted the money back, the company's MD started avoiding him. Following which, Sandeep lodged a police complaint seeking justice. Meanwhile, sources said the company authorities have returned a part of the investment to the MlA's son. "The MD had given me a cheque for the rest amount which was turned down by the bank, citing that the signatory was not authorised to issue cheques on behalf of the company," Sandeep stated. On Saturday, Pani had stated that the company was ready to repay the rest amount in a day or two.
"But he (Sandeep) moved the police station without any reason. There was no need of moving police station," Pani stated.
