Speculations are rife in political circles that Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathy would soon be asked by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to resign from the Cabinet for his wild remarks about the farmers’ suicide in the State
Interestingly, Maharathy appeared before the media on Saturday to record his stand on the issue.
“That time (for his resignation) has not come as yet. If necessary, I will quit (the Ministry),” Maharathy said.
The speculations about Maharathy’s ouster from the Cabinet have gained further momentum as he was kept out of the ruling BJD’s farmers’ rally in Bargarh district on Thursday though many other Ministers were present there obviously at the instance of the Chief Minister.
