As part of the BJP’ organisational expansion plans before the 2019 elections, party national president Amit Shah would once again come to Odisha on a three-day visit in September.
Shah would be in the State from September 6 to 8 and participate in 26 events.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, party general secretary and Odisha in-charge Arun Singh said, “Amit Shah will attend as many as 26 events of the party across the State. Ahead of that, the party will organise various special programmes from August 9 to 30.”
“To commemorate India’s freedom struggle, our party will take out a Mashaal rally on August 9.
We will also organise a Tiranga Yatra from August 10 to August 14 and pay tributes to freedom fighters and martyrs across the country,” he said
The BJP, which is buoyant after the panchayat polls results in the State, has planned to use these events to galvanise its cadre and strengthen its prospects in the State at the grassroots level before the 2019 elections, party sources said.
Earlier, Shah had visited the State for three days from July 3 for the BJP’s ‘Mo booth Sabuthu Majbhoot’ programme and began his campaign from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s home turf Ganjam district.
And as part of the party’s Dalit outreach programme, he had lunch at Dalit homes in Ganjam and Jajpur districts. He also reviewed the schemes being implemented in the State by the Central Government and gave the mantra to party workers to boost the fortunes of the party.
