Shah's '120+' claim lacks basis: Naveen

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday rejected BJP national president Amit Shah’s repeated claim that his party would bag “120+” seats in the 147-member Odisha Assembly.

“I don’t think there is any basis on which the prediction is made,” Patnaik told reporters here when asked about Shah’s assertion about the BJP’s performance in the next elections while addressing a public meeting at Balangir on Thursday.

In fact, Shah has been claiming about his party’s future Assembly poll performance since his visit to the State in September last year.

Patnaik also refuted Shah’s allegation at the Balangir meeting that the BJD Government has neglected develop0ment of western Odisha.

The Chief Minister said his Government has been implementing all kinds of pro-people welfare schemes in the region, he said.
