'Shah doing politics over lord Jagannath'

The BJD has alleged that BJP national president Amit Shah is now making efforts to do politics over lord Jagannath and misleading Odia people by giving baseless information vis-à-vis Central grants given to Odisha as his party has no issue for the 2019 elections in the State.

“Shah is making efforts to do politics involving lord Jagannath, which is condemnable and a form of cheap politics. The political parties and leaders who have done so in the past have failed and lost ground,” said BJD spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member Pratap Keshari Deb.

Deb said Shah’s claim that the Modi Government has provided over Rs 4 lakh crore to Odisha during the last four years is totally baseless. “The BJP has been talking half-truth before people, which is valueless. All know that the Fourteenth Commission had mentioned to give 10 per cent more funds to States before the NDA Government came to the power.

But after coming to the power, the NDA Government has put burden on the State by changing Central share in various welfare schemes,” alleged Deb.

He said Shah can get information about 14 th Finance Commission and change of Cetnral share from the Union Finance Ministry or the RBI, if has no such information.

Stating that Odisha people know the truth, Deb said, “It will be proved who is telling the truth and who is telling a lie.
