BJP national president Amit Shah on Wednesday participated at a membership drive and also became an active member from the State held at Gopinathpur village under Dhauli panchayat on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. Shah formally inducted 129 new members into the party.
“The party at present has 3.21 crore members in the country and out of them 56,000 are from Odisha. Every worker of the party right from those in the grassroots level to the national president will make efforts to induct at least 100 members into the part. After they do so, they will be made an active member of the party who can then be able to organize programmes for the party. As part of the programme, I have inducted 100 members into the party today. We need to broaden the membership base of the party at the booth level to take PM Modi’s programme forward. I am thankful to the Odisha unit, which has selected this historic village on the banks of the Daya river where the people of Kalinga fought with the mighty army of Ashoka,” said Shah addressing the gathering.
