Gajapati Collector Anupam Shah has been recently transferred but with his leaving the district, he will surely leave a lasting impression of the good works he did during his tenure in public mind.

Shah who belongs to Kesinga  in Kalahandi district joined as district Collector Gajapati at a time when Titli had caused havoc in the entire district. Especially in the panchayats of Gangabad, Kerandi, Kaimpur of Rayagarh block, the disaster had created a trail of devastation. However, Shah handled the after effect of the gale and took every possible steps to help the needy. Then it was said that Titli had pushed the district to 40 years' back. But with the efforts of Collector Shah, the rebuilding works were undertaken in a war footing. He also personally looked into education of the children and even visited schools to teach the children.

His scheme was a great success and even turned out to be a national model. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reffered to the revival of education  of Gajapati district in the Parliament and praised the steps taken by the administration.

Similarly, the Niti Aayog also appreciated the the developmental works in the district during Saha's time.  The district was also awarded at the national level for taking massive developmental and reconstruction works. Similarly, the role of the Collector in the development of Paralakhemundi municipality was vital. The most important work in Gajapati district was handling both the first wave and the second wave of the Corona pandemic.
