The Society of Geoscientists and Allied Technologists (SGAT) recently felicitated two of its council members for their distinctive achievements.
Those honoured are Sanjay Pattanaik, president of Odisha Chapter of CII and executive director of Tata Sponge Iron ltd, who has been elevated to the position of Tata Sponge Iron Managing Director, and Rajib lochan Mohanty, president of Eastern Zone Mining Association.
Pattanaik has also been elected as president of Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) and Mohanty has been elected as vice-president of FIMI. Mohanty, after his stint in merchant navy, took up his family business, mining and has been closely associated with the State and Central Governments in formulation of mineral legislation.
Present at the felicitation function were the Director of Mines, the Director of Geology and SGAT president Dr SK Sarangi, vice-president Rl Mohanty (MGM Group MD) general secretary Sujit Mohanty and advisor BK Mohanty.
