S'garh tribal gets back land after 15-yr legal fight

An old  tribal  man of  Sundargarh has  got justice after 15 long years of his fight for  getting his own land.

The old  man got  back the land  on Friday in the  presence of Sundargarh  Sadar  Tehsildar  and  police  officials.  He had lost the land to another of his village by fraud in 2001.

Sources said one Gulap Naik, originally a resident of Bedabahal village in  Sundargarh, resides at Kudabara village under Sadar police station in Sundargarh. During his absence at Bedabahal village, one  Sushil Naik, a resident of Bedabahal village, had grabbed  Gulap’s  27 decimal land in three plots. Thereafter, Sushil had also constructed a five room house on the land. Sushil had also managed to make ROR of this piece of  land in his own name.

To get back his own land, Gulap had to run from pillar to post at that time and when he had failed to get  back his land from Sushil, he had gone to the court of Sundargarh Sub Collector in  2001 for  justice.

When the judgment of Sub Collector  court had not  gone  in  favour of Gulap, he had appealed  in the court of  Additional District  Magistrate, Sundargarh. After  it  was found  by Sundargarh  ADM court that Gulap is the owner of the land, recently  the court directed Sundargarh Sadar Tehsildar for giving possession of the land to Gulap.

Accordingly, on Friday, Sundargar Sadar  Tehsildar Anjalina Pradhan in the presence of Sadar IIC GR Mohapatra and other  police officials, gave possession of the land to Gulap.
