A student of the Sundargarh Government College has allegedly been duped of Rs 15,000 by a youth on the promise of a railway job.
The matter came to the fore after Manoj Ekka, the student, lodged a complaint with Sundargarh SP R Prakash.
He alleged that a youth of Sargitoli village near lanjiberna had taken him to Bhawanipatnai to give him a job in the Railways on December 30. There, he faced an interview in a small room where some others were present. He was asked to tell the names of the Prime Minister and the Railways Minister. Thereafter, the interviewers took Aadhaar Card and other original certificate from him. Then they asked him to pay Rs 15,000 for the job. Manoj soon called his father to come with Rs 15,000. The next day his father came and gave Rs 15,000 to the interviewers.
But later the interviewers told him that he would be given a job in a private company not in the Railways. Suspecting them as frauds, Manoj came back to Sundargarh and lodged the complaint. The SP has directed the Rajgangpur SDPO BK Naik to conduct an inquiry into the matter.
“I have told Rajgangpur SDPO to conduct an inquiry and take action against the offenders,” said the SP.
