Several tribal Class-X girl students of the Jemamani High School under the Tikayatpali police limits in Sundargarh district have accused Headmaster Kshetrabasi Pradhan of showing them obscene videos and molesting them.
Acting on the complaints of students, the Bonai police have registered a case against the headmaster, who has been absconding.
As per the complaint, 21 students along with the Headmaster were staying in a rented at Badgogua and appearing the Matriculation examination at the Badagogua High School.
On February 23 night, Pradhan allegedly showed the girls obscene videos on his mobile phone and touched them inappropriately. When they resisted his act, he threatened to get them failed in the examination.
Following completion of examination, the girls lodged a complaint at the Tikayatpalli PS. But as the Tikayatpalli police didn’t take any action, their parents lodged a complaint at the Bonei PS on Sunday night. And when the Bonei police did not take any action, the disgusted parents approached Bonei Sub-Collector Swadha Dev Singh. Dev talked to Rourkela SP Dr Uma Shankar Das and then only a case was registered by the Bonei police.
“A case of molestation has been registered as per the complaint of the girls. Appropriate action will be taken after inquiry,” said the SP.
