The GNM Nursing  Training, Sundargarh director was arrested and forwarded to court on Saturday allegedly for cheating a number of   nursing students. Police also sealed the institution on Thursday.

Sources  said Sundargarh GNM Nursing Training  School, Sundargarh ANM Training School and Rourkela BSC Nursing Training are situated in one campus at Shankara. Authorities of the school had got permission for taking admission of 35 students for GNM nursing and 40 students in ANM nursing. But they had given admission to 69 students in GNM nursing and also 57 students in ANM  nursing.

Recently before the start  of the examination, all the  students of GNM and ANM had  filled up form but proper admit card had been given to 35 GNM students and 40  ANM students. While these 35 GNM students and 40 ANM  students appeared for the exam in DIT centre in Sundargarh,  the other 34 GNM students  and 17 ANM students were  deprived of admit card but  the  authorities allegedly had given them fake admit card for sitting in exam.

The school authorities asked them to sit separately in a closed room in the nursing school premises and conducted the exam. According to sources, they also gave Xerox  copy of the original questionpapers to these illegally admitted students.

Suspecting foul play, the  students met Sundargarh  Collector on Thursday and  lodged their grievance against  the authorities of the nursing  school. As per the instruction  of Sundargarh Collector  Bhupinder Singh Punia, the  students of GNM and ANM nursing who had been cheated lodged their compliant in  Town police station in  Sundargarh. Town Police  station IIC PK Jena along with  other police officials went to the nursing school and conducted  investigation. After finding proof of cheating, the police  sealed  the   school.  On Friday evening, police  arrested Fakir  Karn, director.  Police are now searching to arrest Santosini Karn  and Principal Sumita  Patel.
