Assistant District Judge, Rourkela Pratap Kumar Nayak on Wednesday awarded seven years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of `10,000 on Junul lugun (54) of Khairabahal village under Sundargarh district’s Raibaga PS on the charge of raping a 12-year-old minor girl on January 28, 2012.
Junul would undergo six months more RI if fails to the fine amount, Nayak ruled. Sources said Junul went to a ailing woman’s house on the incident day and told the woman that he would cure her ailment through a black magic puja. He then sent her to bring water to a distant place. As the woman went outside, he locked her house from inside keeping her minor daughter and raped her. By the time woman returned, Junul had fled from her house.
