Sundargarh police on Thursday decided to conduct DNA test of a youth, who has been refusing any physical relationship with a 20-year- old girl, who recently delivered a girl child.
The girl on the other hand has been running from pillar to post to get justice, since the youth has refused to accept her and the girl has been claiming that the youth is the father of the child.
Sources said Champi lakra (20) a native of Ekma village under Bargaon block had reportedly developed an affair with one Nabin Majhi of same village.
Champi reportedly had become pregnant and delivered a girl child on October 4, 2014. Nabin, however, refused to accept Champi following which a meeting was called at village panchayat but Nabin had refused to accept the relationship.
Finding no other alternative, Champi had lodged a FIR in Bargaon police station on October 14. Police although had registered a case but had started an investigation, but there was no further development.
After getting agitated by the approach of police, Champi carrying her new born girl child, had appeared before the Sundargarh Collector and the SP on Wednesday and narrated her plight and demanded arrest of the accused.
Sundargarh SP Pinak Mishra directed Bargaon police to take up the case immediately and on Thursday directed Bargaon police to conduct DNA test of Nabin.
