A contractor of Sundargarh was arrested and produced before the court by Sundargarh police on Friday for allegedly cheating a girl by giving her a fake certificate in Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) and assuring her to provide her an ASHA Worker job.
The fraudster had allegedly been cheating several unemployed young boys and girls in Sundargarh by assuring them to provide jobs and had been issuing fake certificates, police knew from an investigation.
Accused Sanjay Patel (30), a resident of Gamaridih under lepripada Police Station limits of Sundargarh, was for long in the observation of the police as several allegations of cheating against him had been lodged.
SP R Prakash said a special squad was formed to track Patel’s activities. One Gitanajali Munda, a resident of Salepali village under Dharuahdih Police Station, had lodged an FIR in Dharuadih Police Station on Friday that Patel had cheated her and issued her a fake DCA certificate by taking `5,000 from her. He also had allegedly assured her of an Asha worker job.
While verifying police could come to know that the allegation was true and thus arrested Patel and produced him before court. Sundargarh police are now further investigating about his cheating and forgery to other persons in the district.
