The Sundargarh BJP women’s wing on Monday staged protest in the headquarters town over the incident of some women being forced to take off their black scarf, stoles and shawls before entering a meeting venue where Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik addressed.
The Chief Minister had visited Mangaspur in Tangarpalli block. Security personnel including State police at Mangaspur forced the women participants to take off their black colour scraps, stoles and shawls before entering the meeting venue. Even though many of the women became upset and protested, some of the women constables were seen pushing and shoving them in a bid to ensure no one uses garments as black flags or clothes mean to oppose the Chief Minister.
Protesting this as disrespect to women, Sundargarh district BJP women wing led president Shanti Saraf staged protest at DRDA square.
