Youth BJD general secretary of Sundargrh district is now in a soup after facing allegation of cheating and keeping physical relationship with a girl.
The accused is now absconding and the Sundargarh police after registering a case have started an investigation.
According to sources, accused Umesh Kumar Sharma was slapped with an allegation by a girl (24), a resident of RRIT colony of Sundargarh, that the former has been exploiting her sexually since 2009 on the promise of marrying her. In 2016, a dispute occurred with Sharma when the girl’s family insisted him to marry her as the girl had became pregnant earlier and Sharma got her aborted by persuading her successfully. Sharma had allegedly beaten her and her mother over the issue. later, the victim had lodged a complaint in the Town police station and a rape case had been registered against Sharma.
The victim girl during that period had got a job at Noida and after she went to Noida for working there, Sharma again cunningly assured her that he would marry her and had persuaded her to withdraw the case against him. The girl had withdrawn the case and both reportedly had tied the knot in a temple at Cuttack.
The girl said Sharma had mixed some medicine in her coffee to damage her pregnancy. When the girl came to know about this, she was rigid to go to Sharma’s house as his wife.
