The Khandagiri police on Tuesday arrested a Ranchi-based student of a premier engineering college, Aditya Raj, who had featured in a sex video with his girlfriend of the same college. The video had gone viral after it was posted on a social media platform.
“A case has been registered at the Khandagiri police station under IT Act and various sections of IPC. It is a cognisable offence, and a person was arrested over circulating the obscene video on social media. Investigation into the matter is on,” said Commissioner of Police YB Khurania.
Aditya, hailing from Ranchi, had earlier been detained by police for his alleged involvement in circulating of the sex video on WhatsApp.
However, Aditya has claimed innocence saying he has got no idea how the video went viral.
“I wasn’t involved in making the video viral. She is my girlfriend, and I don’t know how the video went viral,” said he.
