SP Rabi Narayan Behera transferred Kendrapara town police station IIC Sriballav Sahu and posted him at the district police office.The SP transferred Sahu, who had joined a month back in the police station, after an allegation of sexual harassment in workplace came against him.
It may be noted here that a woman constable, who was earlier working as a writer in Kendrapara town police station, had alleged before SP Behera that the IIC allegedly used to SMS lewd messages on her cell phone and had made a passionate advance towards her in recent past while she was on duty at the police station. But when the victim had restricted the senior officer, the accused IIC allegedly had sent her to Ganjam district for poll duty.
Acting on the written complaint, the SP directed a probe on the alleged matter. A cell, comprising of four persons, including an NGO activist, headed by a lady inspector, was formed to probe on the case. It found the Inspector to be guilty.
