A girl who had given clues to arrest the kingpin of a sex racket, Rina Behera (40), from the Nayapalli area, has alleged that a few persons taking the name of a senior IPS officer threatened to kill her if she discloses their names before the police. The girl alleged that the persons were regular customers of Rina. She said ever since she gave clues to the police that helped bust the racket, the duo had gone panicky fearing police action.
The girl approached State Progressive Women Forum to help her in getting security from the police as the duo continuously had been threatening to kill her. Forum president Mamata Samantray said a few influential persons had been threatening the girl not to disclose anything about them to police.
Notably, the Commissionerate Police have started a massive drive to arrest the persons involved in the sex racket after a complaint was lodged by Sandhyarani Samantray, whom a person named Prasant Kumar Sahoo alias Bapi had engaged in flesh trade in city. Acting on the complaint, the Mahila police have arrested a kingpin of a sex racket and a few others involved in the case.
