Police on Friday evening arrested five persons, including two sex workers, from a rented house at Bramahabarada village under the Dharmasala police station in Jajpur district on the charges of running a brothel, said Dharmasala police station IIC Umakanta Nayak on Saturday.
Besides the two sex workers, the arrested persons were identified as Kalpana Sahoo, the house owner, Mahendra Nayak (28) of Betenda village and Trilochan Jena (30) of Bandhadia.
The sex workers were sent to a short stay home in the district. The others were produced by police in a local court. The court rejected their bail applications and remanded them to jail custody.
