The Commissionerate police claimed to have busted a flesh trade racket run from a hotel at College Square here on Monday. On a tipoff, a Malgodown police team swooped down on the hotel and arrested two customers and rescued two girls.
The two accused have been identified as Rakesh Sahoo and Subash Pradhan. However, the manager of the hotel Rajoo Sahoo, who is alleged to be a kingpin of the racket, somehow got whiff of the police raid and fled.
The police have launched a manhunt to nab him. Senior police officials said raids would be carried out in other hotels and lodgings in the city to ensure that such rackets are not operated from those places.
