At least seven of 54 dengue patients at the SCB Medical College Hospital here were in very critical conditions on Friday, and all of them are undergoing treatment in an exclusive ICU of the hospital. Sources said more than 200 patients have been treated here in the current year.
like past few years, dengue has already spread its tentacles in several parts of the State this year too. Dengue cases are also reported from Baleswar, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Brahmapur, Puri and Bhubaneswar. Official sources said that by now, 468 cases are reported in the State, most of them afflicted with the disease from outside the State.
Source informed that five patients were discharged from the hospital on Friday, but over 50 were undergoing treatment in the exclusive dengue ward. The hospital is well-equipped to increase the bed strength in the dengue ward if the need arises.
