The seventh Brahmapur Mahotsav, to be organsied by the Mahan Sangha and the Brahmapur Mahotsav Committee, would begin at the Khalikote College ground here from April 28 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Utkal Gaurab Madhusudan Das.
The extravaganza, which would continue till May 4, would feature cultural performances to be presented by artistes from the State and outside. Besides, various seminars on development of art, literature, culture, tourism and industries would be held on the occasion.
The Mahotsav sub-committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of committee president Sushant Sabat at the Mahan Sangh office here on Saturday. It was decided to encourage local artistes and regional dance troupes of south Odisha. Besides, persons with excellent contributions to the fields of education, literature, culture, sports, social work and journalism would be felicitated on the occasion.
