Newly-appointed Congress Seva Dal State coordinator Aryakumar Jnanendra on Monday said ideologies and thoughts of Gandhi and Gopabandhu would be spread among the people in every panchayat across the State.
Jnanendra told reporters that 100 years back it was Utkalmani Gopanabhu Das who had formed and led a language-based Utkal Pradesh Congress Committee based on a resolution adopted in the Congress Nagpur Session.
The first session of Congress Sevadal was held in Puri in 1932 under the leadership of Acharya Hraihar Das and the first chief organiser was Dr Harekrushna Mahtab, he said.
The Seva Dal has decided that 6,500 youths would be trained to take the messages of Gandhi and Gpabandhu to the panchayat level.
“Unfortunately, youths of the State have been frustrated by the 21-year-long BJD rule and are suffering from the dual crises of unemployment and mental tension,” said Jnanendra
