To analyse the extent of Covid-19 infection, a serological survey began in Gajapati district headquarters town Paralakhemundi on Wednesday.
A 15-member team from ICMR-Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), Bhubaneswar has been engaged to accompany the health officials and municipality staffs in the survey. In the first phase, 50 samples each is being collected from 20 localities in the town. Collector Anupam Saha on Wednesday visited all swab collection centres.
“The survey will reveal the rate of penetration and antibodies developed in the people. Based on the survey report, further measures will be taken to curb the virus transmission,” Collector said.
