The Orissa High Court has directed the State Government to conduct investigations into the Bhubaneswar minor girl gangrape case under the supervision of a senior police officer.
Hearing a PIL, a Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Mohammad Rafiq and Justice BR Sarangi directed the Government to carry out investigation into the case under direct supervision of a DCP-rank officer.Also, the HC bench asked the Government to submit a fresh report on the progress of probe into the case prior to the next hearing.
The court fixed the next hearing of the PIL on October 12. As the court asked the State Government to submit a report on the first day of its hearing on September 28.
