The International Day of Older Persons was observed at the laxminrusingha Temple in Taraboi village under Puri district’s Nimapara block by the lN Senior Citizens’ Association with the help of the Help Age India.
Around 300 people marched in a rally shouting slogans and making people aware of taking care of senior citizens.
Social worker Hina Nayak, lecturer Rajkishore Rath, Kothakusanga GP Sarpanch Amulya Singh, PS Member Susant Patnaik, Ranjay Das, Avimanyu Prusty, Govind Nayak spoke. They said senior citizens have the moral right to lead a dignified life and, hence, Government should provide all support to them, including old-age pension.
