Ananta Charan Sahoo, a septuagenarian and resident of Chhapada village under Raghunathpur block, has been missing from the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack.

He had been admitted after testing Covid-positive. Reports said that the missing man’s son and wife too were affected with Coronavirus and later were admitted in Covid hospital in the District Headquarters Hospital [DHH] here on Monday.  Ananta had come to the DHH for coronavirus testing on May 25 and tested positive. Later, he was sent to the SCB. After his admission, his two sons had returned to village. The family members were unable to keep contact with Ananat due to cyclone Yass.

Surprisingly on May 28, the hospital authorities telephoned Ananata’s family and informed that he had been missing from the Covid hospital.

Acting on the information Ananta’s two sons rushed to the SCB, but the authorities did not deliver any satisfactory reply. Later, they lodged an FIR at the Mangalabag police station in Cuttack on May 28. Meanwhile, four days have passed, but the police have not been unable to trace Ananta.
