Clicking selfie near the Salunki Dam in Boudh district cost an engineer his life as the mobile phone fell into the reservoir and he drowned while trying to find it.
The deceased was identified as Mukundam R of Tamil Nadu, who along with three others engaged in a Mega Lift Irrigation Project work had gone to the reservoir on Sunday evening to take bath.
As the mobile phone slipped out of Mukundam’s hand and fell into water, he then jumped into the reservoir to find it but went missing.
Informed by his associates, Fire Service personnel reached the spot and initiated a rescue operation. They recovered his body on Monday morning.
