'Select contractors getting OTDC work orders'

Published on:

The Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) Contractors’ Association has alleged that the OTDC authorities are giving work orders for various developmental works to two to three select contractors only.

The association has submitted an 11-point charter of demands to the State Tourism and Culture Minister, Secretary and the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, informing them about the alleged discrimination.

“The MD is rejecting work orders for all contractors, excepting those who work for the OTDC in-house works. Besides, these specific contractors are given 6.5 per cent more of the approved money for the work assigned. The MD even disagrees to give 2 per cent more of the prescribed money,” alleged the association.

It also alleged that the fund given to the OTDC for various developmental works is being sent back many a times. Despite repeated attempts, association members have not been able to meet the MD, they said.
