Activists of the BJP Bhubaneswar district led by its president Babu Singh staged demonstrations at 35 different places in the city in protest against rise in electricity tariff for household consumers.
“The State Government has increased electricity tariff for four times in four years.
But it misled the State Assembly informing that the tariff was increased once in seven years.
The recent rise has added to the woes of people who have already suffered financially due to Covid-19. It is not at all acceptable,” said Singh
He demanded that the Government withdraw the tariff soon and the concerned Minister resign from the post. He also threatened that the party would intensify stir if demands are not met soon
