The Odisha State Seeds Corporation (OSSC) has paid a dividend of Rs 19,44,499 to the State Government for the year 2010-11.
Narendra Kumar Swain, OSSC Chairman presented the dividend cheque to the Chief Minister. The corporation earned a profit of Rs 2,48,00,000 in the year 2011-12 in comparison to Rs 2,01,00,000 in the year 2010-11.
Meanwhile, it has made a business of Rs 181,70,00,000 in the year 2012-13 achieving a 8.58-per cent of growth rate over the previous year's performance.
Earlier the seeds were sold to farmers through 628 cooperative sales centres of the Government but now sale would be made through 809 centres and 1,614 dealers appointed by the corporation.
