Security tightened near Sarathi Ashram

Security has been beefed up at the Barimula-based Sarathi Ashram of self-proclaimed god man Srimad Sarathi Baba, after a private news channel on Tuesday showed explicit clippings purported to be of Sarathi wearing jeans, sunglasses, staying in a hotel with a girl in Hyderabad and also taking non-vegetarian food.

A platoon of police force led by Kendrapara Sadar Town police station IIC Biranchi Bag was deployed near the Ashram, keeping in mind the possible outbreak of law and order situation.

Palpable tension erupted in the district after the real picture of Sarathi exposed.locals demanded that an inquiry would be initiated against the self styled God for playing with the religious sentiments of lakhs of people of the State.Meanwhile, Ali Congress MlA Debendra Shrama wrote a letter to district Collector Debaraj Senapati appealing to him to conduct a thorough inquiry on the alleged incident. Even,When contacted the Collector Debaraj Senapati stated the no such allegation has come to his notice, neither he has directed any inquiry on this matter.

When contacted, Srimad Sarathi stated that all the allegations are purely false.“If a girl was with me at the hotel, then why the TV channel did not telecast the girl’s footage,” questioned Sarathi.He also stated that some of his close aides who were his disciples are doing this only to defame him and his ashram.
