The Jajpur district administration on Monday decided to conduct a week-long Rath Yatra at the famous Biraja Temple here from October 17 to 24 by clamping prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC at the Rath Yatra site.
The move is meant to restrict movement and congregation of public to contain spread of Covid-19 infection.
A meeting held at the Collector’s office took the decision. Temple priests and managing committee members and other stakeholders attended the meeting. “All have agreed to follow procedures decided at the meeting,” said Collector Chakravarti Singh Rathore.
