In view of rush to the famous Baba Gorekhnath Temple in Jagatsinghpur district for a Yajna on Sunday during the lockdown, the district administration has decided to impose Section 144 of CrPC at the shrine for eight days with effect from April 26 till May 3.
The customary Yajna is scheduled at the temple from April 26 to May 3. District Collector Sangram Keshari Mohapatra has ordered clamping of Section 144 to prevent undesirable consequences.
A notification issued from the Collector’s office stated that gatherings of more than four persons including priests and presence of outsiders on temple premises would be prohibited under the law during the religious event.
