The Secretariat Classic Chess Championship was held from October 6 to 13 here in which 30 players participated. While Binod Sahu emerged champion, Gagan Behari Das and Rajani Kant Das won second and third position, respectively.
Players who were placed from fourth to 10th position are Pratap Kumar Jena, Manmohan Sethi, Suresh Chandra Sahoo, Krupasindhu Mallick, Prakash Chandra Sahoo, laxmi Prasad Bhuyan and Shailendra Nath Rout.
GA Department Additional Director Ganeshwar Jena had inaugurated the programme. Satish Chandra Singh and Sanatan Mallick coordinated the whole event.
The Odisha Secretariat Chess Association would launch a seven-day Rapid Chess Championship from October 23.
