To commemorate the closing of the 150th birth anniversary of Swabhab Kavi Gangadhar Meher, the Doordarshan Kendra has produced a second series of programme on the poet’s immortal literary works.
The 23-episode is scheduled for telecast on DD-Odia from Monday to Friday from August 20 to September 20.
The first three episodes of the programme have been produced in the form of discussion on the literary works, including Tapaswini, Kichaka Badha and Pranaya Ballari in which eminent writers and researchers of Meher like Sanjib Chandra Hota, Partha Sarathi, Ajay Barik, Dr Manindra Meher, Dr Tirthananda Midhra, Dr Krushna Keshab Sarangi, Mrutyunjaya Rath and Itirani Samant analysed various aspects of his creations.
The rest 20 episodes are dedicated to the epic Pranaya Ballari and are produced in classical Odissi dance format especially through Abhinaya.
The first series of the programme of 16 episodes on the epic Tapaswini was telecast to commemorate the 100th year of the epic in March, which received wide appreciation.
