The Jharsuguda district administration has ordered that the Sec 144 will be imposed near water bodies in the district in view of the Chhath Puja.
Gathering of more than five people near water bodies has been banned. As per an order issued by Jharsuguda Sub-Collector Shiba Toppo, the restriction near water bodies was effective from 4 pm to 6 pm on November 19.
The order further stated Sec 144 would remain in force from 4 am to 7 am and 4 pm to 6 pm on November 20 and 4 am to 7 am on November 21.
The district administration advised people to celebrate the Chhath Puja at their homes as there are chances for spread of Covid-19.
