The Puri district administration on Thursday declared prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC in Puri town during the Nagarjuna Besha of the deities of the Jagannath Temple on Friday.
Puri SP K Vishal Singh said the prohibitory orders would be in force from Marichikota Chhak and around the temple to Dolamandap Sahi from 2 am.To ensure safety and security, a total of 25 platoons of police force would be deployed in the town. Two Additional SPs, seven DSPs, 75 Officers and 250 Home Guards would be put on the job, the SP said. Devotees would not be allowed to pay obeisance to the deities during the Nagarjuna Besha, he informed.
“Giving top most priority to health of all citizens and preventing overcrowding in compliance to Covid-19 precautions,” he added.
