Adding fuel to the ongoing stir over the chit fund frauds, thousands of investors across the State have started staging dharnas before various company offices, police stations and Crime Branch offices demanding safe return of their money.
On Wednesday, holding placards and shouting slogans, hundreds of investors of the Seashore company under the banner of the Seashore Investors’ and Field Employees’ Association gheraoed the company’s main office in Bhubaneswar to press their demand.
“The Crime Branch is doing its duty and no doubt the offenders will face the action as per law, but who will return our moneyIJ Neither the company officials nor the Government is taking the responsibility to return our money,” said association chairperson Chinmayee Burma.
Alleging that the company has collected crores of rupees under various money circulation schemes like preferential share, gold scheme and diamond scheme involving scores of customers, Burma said that nearly 5,000 agents who had been assigned to carry out the collections have also not received their salaries for last six to seven months.
Similarly, a group of investors of one Sarvodaya Multi Services limited on Tuesday evening lodged complaints against the company’s directors like lingaraj Sahoo, Sandhyarani Sahoo and Suryanarayan Pradhan alleging that the trio along with other officials has cheated them of crores of rupees.
The complainants belonging to the Ranpur area of Nayagarh district alleged that they have not received their amounts even after the maturity periods.
