For the third consecutive day on Tuesday, the CBI on Tuesday interrogated Seashore Group CMD Prashant Kumar Dash, his brother Prabhat Dash, and Subhankar Nayak, an alleged conduit between the company and political leaders, bureaucrats and police officers at the Jharpada Special Jail here.

CBI Superintendent of Police (SP) and an Investigating Officer (IO) interrogated the trio in connection with the multi-crore chit fund scam committed by the company.

Earlier on Sunday and Monday, the Central investigating agency had also grilled the three at the jail after obtaining permission from the Special CBI Court here.

In a related development, the CBI on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids at nine places, including three in Odisha, where the tainted chit fund firm Shastra was running its operations.

According to reports, offices of the company located at Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak and Baripada were raided by the agency. Sources said raids were also conducted in Chennai, Tripura and Madurai where the dubious money collection firm had duped gullible investors in the name of higher returns.

The company has duped more than Rs 150 crore from the investors from Odisha, mostly from Baleswar and Bhadrak districts.

Shastra company head V Sampath is presently lodged in the Bargarh jail after being arrested in connection with the scam.  On the day, the Special CJM (CBI) Court here allowed the CBI to take just-suspended Youth Congress State president Rajat Choudhury and Government lawyer Devashis Panda on a three-day remand. The duo was arrested on Monday for their alleged complicity with the Artha Tatwa (AT) Group chit fund company.
