Following the seizure of luxurious cars from the possession of Seashore Group CMD Prashant Dash, who was maintaining a lavish lifestyle by duping gullible small investors of his company, the Crime Branch on Sunday unearthed another truth during interrogation that he had invested money in the Odia film industry. Dash invested around Rs 1 crore in the Ollywood film industry and made a star-studded Odia movie Matira Bandhan, the mahurat of which was held in Cuttack.
Crime Branch sleuths quizzed Dash about his company’s investments, transactions and expenditures to get the real picture of his money circulation. After the interrogation, Dash was taken to Koraput’s Semiliguda to produce him before a local court. If the Crime Branch feels any importance of quizzing the Seashore CMD further, he would be taken on remand, sources said.
Notably, a real estate firm, Umamani Home Creations, had also invested money in the Odia film industry which was exposed by the Crime Branch during the interrogation of the company’s managing director Narayan Nayak.
