Sea Shore fraud: Investors meet Baleswar DC

Scores of investors here, mainly from Oupada block, on Monday met District Collector Ranjit Mohanty and urged him to intervene in a case of fraud.

They stated that they had invested their deposits with the Sea Shore Securities on an assurance that they would be getting two per cent interest per Rs 1 lakh deposit every month and that the principal sum would be doubled after a maturity period five years.

Accordingly, they were issued with bonds and for a few months, they were getting the assured amount. However, for past several months, the company has stopped paying them the assured dues, they said.

Despite contacting the agents of the company through which they had made the investment, they didn’t get any satisfactory answer, theycomplained. What has now caused apprehension of being duped is that the company offices in the town and other places have been locked and there is none to clarify the stand of the company.
