Chairperson of State Commission for Women (SCW) lopamudra Buxipatra held a camp court at Koraput on Wednesday where 41 cases came up for hearing. The cases included 23 from Koraput district, 17 from Rayagada and one from Malkangiri district.
Out of these cases, 32 parties appeared for hearing while seven cases were settled, 10 were referred to the respective police stations for investigation and six cases to other authorities and four were referred to the District legal Aid Service Authorities.
Further, six new cases were registered in the court and notices were issued for hearing of five cases, sources said. While the camp court was chaired by commission’s head, two members, Koraput SP Awinash Kumar, Sub-Collector Rasmita Panda, DSWO Saraswati Hembram, Protection Officer Swarnabha Dash, Mission Shakti Coordinator G Sita Kumari, Additional SPs from 3 districts, other police officers and representatives of NGOs attended it.
