Scribe Sashi Rath remembered at B'pur

Nabeen Pathagar and Sahitya Pratisthan, a socio-cultural organisation, celebrated 129th birth day of  Odia  Journalism icon late Sashi Bhusan Rath.

A brief meeting was held here on the occasion, which was presided over by scribe and Samanta Kranti Dal vice president Rabi Rath. While local legislator Ramesh Chandra Chau Pattnaik was the guest of honour, Prof Kartik Chandra Rout joined the celebration as chief speaker. In his address, Pattnaik described Rath as a great journalist without whom the history of Odia journalism would remain incomplete.Chief speaker Prof Rout presented a vivid account of the contributions made by Rath. 

Pattnaik inaugurated ‘Sakrachap’ an anthology of Odia poems authored by well known teacher and poet Parsuram Sahu. A large number of poets recited their poems. Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra and Neelakantha Sahu coordinated the recitation ceremony, while the Prathisthan secretary Dr Chandramani Swain delivered the welcome address.
