A senior journalist of the Odisha Television (OTV), who was picked up by the Keonjhar police on Friday, was later released, said sources.
Ramesh Rath had been whisked by the police to an unknown place for questioning. He was released after questioning for a few hours.
The police also seized some documents and a computer hard disk from his residence and the OTV office in Bhubaneswar.
The sources said Rath was questioned in connection with a ‘fake viral’ video of Keonjhar MP Chandrani Murmu. Though notices had earlier been served to Rath to appear before the police, he had failed to do so.
Notably, last year, another OTV journalist, Simanchal Patra, had been arrested for his alleged involvement in the case.
During quizzing, Patra had reportedly told the police that he got the video from Rath.
