Scientific panel probe sought for Brahma fiasco

Published on:
A time-consuming and highly expensive judicial commission can’t unravel truth behind the Shreemandir lords’ Ghata Parivartan fiasco. Rather a scientific commission can do it, claimed the Freethought Party of India (FPI).In a statement, FPI general secretary B Ramchandra CST Voltaire argued that judges do not have scientific knowledge nor they do have the required calibre to establish whether there is a shape to Brahma. Hence, a judicial commission will be only time-consuming and expensive.
He, however, firmly opined that a 3-member scientific commission consisting of eminent physicists can really unravel the truth behind Brahma and its transfer from the old images of the deities to the new ones. “The scientific commission can do it within a span of 3 days. They could tell us whether Brahma is a matter or not; they could tell us the shape, colour, the length, the breadth and the density of the Brahma and by what process the same is taken out of the old images of the deities and installed in the new ones,” he said, and demanded that the State Government should announce such a commission soon.
He further said that in an era of transparency and CC TV cameras nothing should be done in secrecy when huge amount of public money is being spent for the ensuing Nabakelabar Rath Yatra of lord Jagannath of Puri.
He also demanded that the State Government reject the demands for a judicial commission made by the BJP, the Congress, the lawyers’ Representative Body, the Odisha Hindu Sena and by the Sankaracharya of the Puri Gobardhan Peeth.“Nothing should remain veiled and shrouded in mystery in the 21st Century. People of Odisha should not be allowed to live in the pre-Copernican, in the pre-Hobbesian and in the pre-Darwinian period of human history,” he opined.
