Science exhibition kicks off at Keonjhar

Published on:

Science can bring awareness and change the superstitious belief among tribals in Keonjhar. Students are the future scientists who could bring inventions, discoveries and new changes, remarked district Collector N Thirumala Nayak, while inaugurating a district-level Science Exhibition at the DN High School.

About 715 students from different schools across the district participated in the event demonstrating various scientific models. A few days ago, the District Education Office had organised block level science exhibitions in all blocks and municipalities to select students for the district exhibition. While some projects were sponsored by INSPIRE, others were supported by the School and Mass Education department.

The exhibition is being held in two phases both for primary and secondary schools.

DEO Prasant Kumar Swain, ADEO Mary Antonia, Odisha Vigyan Academy member Nihar Ranjan Kar and Patron Abhay Sutar spoke on the development and use of science in daily life. During the inaugural meeting, DN High school headmaster Satyananda Mishra addressed the gathering.
